Eusebio leaves hospital after treatment for stroke

LISBON, Portugal (AP) -A Lisbon hospital has discharged Eusebio after treating the former Portuguese football great for a stroke.

The 70-year-old Eusebio spent almost three weeks in hospital after he fell ill at the European Championship last month. After a week in a Polish hospital, he was transferred to Lisbon.

The Hospital da Luz in the Portuguese capital provided no details of Eusebio's condition, saying he had requested discretion. Eusebio made no comment.

Eusebio has been hospitalized four times since December with a variety of ailments.

Eusebio da Silva Ferreira, nicknamed "The Black Panther," became a Portuguese national icon after standout performances in the 1960s and was named by FIFA in 1998 as one of the 10 best football players of all time.
